Street performance based on the first nine chapters of the Book of Genesis. The play follows the convention of the "total theatre" abounding in multifaceted modes of expression.
Archetypal text, interpreted in many ways throughout centuries, has had a fundamental impact on the shape of European imagination. It is the source of the vital concept of the origins of the world and human being, the concept of guilt and fulfillment and finally - the concept of paradise lost and re-gained.
The performance by Theatre "A" is an attempt to inteprete ancient images in a artistic manner. It has been under the influence of literary, musical, artistic and philosophical visions of accomplished European artists and thinkers. However, the interpretation is throughout modern - while referring to commonly known problems the Theatre "A" poses the question of their meaning in today's world. While drawing upon the common, European tradition it asks about that which is still valid and vital.
The music by Jacek Dzwonowski, six-metre screens showing multimedia projections juxtaposing great paintings with contemporary video-art, rich and functional decorations: bombastic costumes, stilts, effigies, huge machines and the burning fire will take the spectator from the Creation through the Fall up to the Flood.
